What is your affiliation with East Jefferson General Hospital?
East Jefferson General Hospital is the owner of the Kenner building, but the East Jefferson After Hours Practice is 100% physician owned. Most of our physicians are on staff at East Jefferson General Hospital, and East Jefferson After Hours is a member of the East Jefferson Medical Alliance. Some lab and diagnostic studies are done at East Jefferson General Hospital and we use the Hospital's Health Finder's Line for assistance in arranging follow-up for our patient's who do not have a physician. We also refer patients to Kenner Regional and Ochsner Foundation Hospital. We have excellent working arrangements with the Emergency Departments at East Jefferson, Ochsner Foundation Hospital, and Kenner Regional.

Do I need an appointment?
No, we do not accept appointments. All patient's are seen on a "walk-in" basis.

Are you on my insurance?
We are on most Louisiana PPO Plans and Commercial Insurance Plans - but not all. Patients are invited to call to verify that we are contracted with their health plan.

Do I need insurance?
No. We do see uninsured patients, but payment is required at completion of treatment. These patients experience a dramatic savings when our charges are compared to an ER bill.

Will the wait be long like at the ER?
No, typically, our waits are less than 30 minutes. The majority of patients walk out of our front door less than an hour from when they walked in.

Can East Jefferson After Hours handle my problem?
We are able to successfully diagnose and treat more then 95% of our patients. Some patients, with more extensive injury/illness than we can treat, are referred to the Emergency Department.
